The Augusta Family Law Center

The Augusta Family Law Center was developed by the Family Law Section of the Augusta Bar Association  (FLS-ABA) both as a public service to the community and to assist residents of Richmond, Columbia and Burke  Counties (which counties comprise the Augusta Judicial Circuit)  who wish to represent themselves in domestic legal matters or educate themselves about domestic issues.  Members of the FLA-ABA are the lawyers, judges and guardians who regularly practice in the area of family law in the Augusta Judicial Circuit.

The Augusta Family Law Center has legal form packets and instructions available to assist in the following areas: divorce (both with and without children), contempt, and family violence.

This website does not provide legal advice. Only a lawyer may provide you with legal advice.

The Augusta Family Law Center recommends that parties seek the advice of a lawyer who will be familiar not only with the law but will also be familiar with the procedures of the court.  Should you choose to proceed without the advice of a lawyer, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the Augusta Judicial Circuit Internal Operating Procedures. A link to the IOPs may be found under the Forms section.

The information provided may or may not be useful in understanding the different aspects of appearing in court including the paperwork and /or forms necessary to proceed in court.

Viewing of the Pro Se video is required for ALL pro se litigants in ALL uncontested divorces involving children and ALL legitimation cases.
